PR and communications agency Sinclair has been appointed to lead communications for Invest Hong Kong's StartmeupHK Festival and Salons.

Running from 24 to 28 May, the festival is aimed to foster innovation and growth in the startup sector, covering areas including AI, fintech, ESG, smart cities, healthcare, proptech and Greater Bay Area development. In addition to the festival, StartmeupHK will also host a series of six international salons to encourage businesses from outside of the HKSAR to invest in Hong Kong.

With teams in Hong Kong and Shanghai, Sinclair will utilise media relations, social media, direct marketing, SEM and content creation to help Invest Hong Kong in its mission to promote Hong Kong as fertile ground for startups to flourish.

"InvestHK and The StartmeupHK Festival are at the forefront of the startup industry, bringing together international voices and perspectives that reinforce Hong Kong’s dominant position as an incubator for ‘The Next Big Things’ that will impact how we live and do business in the future. As a regional independent agency that was founded in Hong Kong nearly 12 years ago, Sinclair inherently understands all that this city has to offer entrepreneurs and we are delighted to have been chosen by InvestHK as their communications partner, allowing us to share this message and help nurture the next generation of business in this city,” said Kiri Sinclair, founder and CEO of Sinclair.

"The StartmeupHK Festival 2021 will be a fantastic showcase of the many opportunities that Hong Kong offers to startups both locally and internationally. The Festival sets out to demonstrate Hong Kong’s leading position as an incubator and test-bed for what’s new and what’s next that will impact how we live and do business in the future. As a Hong Kong startup itself that has scaled up regionally, Sinclair has an intrinsic understanding of the startup landscape," added Jayne Chan, head of StartmeupHK at InvestHK.
