Instagram goes full main character energy in first-ever Thai campaign

Meta has rolled out its first-ever Instagram campaign in Thailand, tapping BBH Singapore to drive engagement with Instagram Reels among younger audiences.
Created for Gen MZ (millennial and Gen Z) users, the 360-degree campaign centres on the idea that Instagram “makes the everyday feel special”, positioning the platform as a space where users can connect over daily moments while discovering and creating content that sparks conversation.
The strategy is rooted in the insight that while everyday life can feel mundane, Thai audiences have a distinct ability to elevate ordinary moments through their own perspectives. Building on this, the campaign encourages users to see Instagram as both a window into others’ lives and a canvas for their own self-expression through Reels.

The work launches with two brand films that showcase how Instagram brings together relationships and interests in one creative space, highlighting its role in helping users stay connected while exploring what they love.

A second creative strand focuses more directly on product adoption, with six 20-second Reels that reinterpret everyday situations through a uniquely Thai lens. The films aim to prompt users to look beyond the ordinary and uncover moments of humour, beauty and storytelling in their daily routines.

To extend reach and engagement, the campaign also includes 15 pieces of creator-led content developed in collaboration with local Instagram personalities such as Chopluem, Nisamanee and Glloysght. The initiative aims to inspire emerging creators by showcasing how easily Reels can be integrated into everyday content creation.
The campaign is running across digital channels in Thailand for 10 weeks.
Janson Choo, executive creative director at BBH Singapore, said the campaign reflects a broader cultural truth about Thai audiences. “What really stayed with us is how Thai people have this natural ability to find humour, meaning and beauty even in the most ordinary or uneventful moments. Instagram Reels is a natural extension of that mindset. It is a place where those stories can be expressed, shared and built upon through connection with others,” he said.
The push to drive deeper engagement on Instagram also comes as Meta continues to test new ways of monetising and enhancing user behaviour on the platform.
The company has reportedly begun trialling a premium subscription tier dubbed Instagram Plus in select markets including Mexico, Japan and Philippines. The plan offers features such as stealth Story viewing, rewatch insights, expanded audience controls and extended Story visibility, alongside options like spotlighting posts and “Superlike” interactions.
