Starbucks has hit a major expansion milestone by opening its 30,000th branch with a specialist store launch in Shenzhen, China. To celebrate the opening, Starbucks has positioned the Starbucks Reserve Shenzhen Bay Mix City store as the first premium and immersive Starbucks experience location for customers in southern China. Inside the store is a 3D experience telling the story of the bean-to-cup journey. Customers can also explore rare, small-batch coffees from around the world and distinctive beverage innovation at three standalone bars, including Starbucks Reserve, Teavana and mixology. "Over the past 48 years, we have worked to build a different kind of company based on a mission grounded in the human experience, the world's finest coffees, and a constant pursuit of doing good. It all started with our first store in Seattle, Washington, and today we celebrate the 30,000th store that just opened in Shenzhen," Kevin Johnson, president and CEO Starbucks Coffee Company. According to Starbucks, the coffee chain drives net new store growth of 6% to 7% annually. And does so by utilizing a variety of different formats that elevate the customer experience, focused on high-quality Arabica coffee, handcrafted beverages, and community engagements. Starbucks recently opened three new Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in Milan, New York,  and Tokyo, While in Bali, Starbucks opened a first-of-its-kind coffee sanctuary.
