As shopping malls are must-go destinations before and during Christmas in Hong Kong, operators have been working on decorations to drive footfall and surprise visitors. To celebrate the festive season, ifc mall has installed on-site decorations and rolled out interactive elements to engage visitors.

The celebration “beautiful: find your Christmas sparkle” will start from 23 November. Visitors will see a six-metre Christmas bauble sparkle at the oval atrium along with a sensory light show titled “Spread the Glow” paired with a symphony every half-hour.

To enhance the holiday experience, visitors can use their smartphones to create a personalised digital Christmas town right in the palm of their hands. Through an AR technology-enabled website, they can decorate their town with Christmas trees, little houses and snowmen, and watch it instantly come to life through a festive greeting video to share with friends and family.

Apart from the website, ifc mall has also designed a series of holiday-themed Instagram filters. Users can create magic with a few clicks to add falling snow or dazzling glitter to add a holiday touch to their photos and videos.
