ICAC turns Café 1974 into bus stop pop-up for National Day

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has transformed its Café "1974" into a limited-time "bus stop"-themed pop-up in celebration of the upcoming National Day.
By combining a Hong Kong-style street sign with the ICAC's classic coffee cup, the pop-up aims to draw more visitors to learn about the ICAC's work and its anti-corruption message.
Noticing the growing popularity of street photography in recent years, with Hong Kong-style bus stops, street signs, and wide-angle mirrors on pavements among the favourite shooting spots, the ICAC has styled Café "1974" as "Route 303 bus stop," with 303 referencing the address of the ICAC headquarters at 303 Java Road in North Point. Paired with specially designed street signs themed around integrity and honesty, the installation encourages members of the public to "set off with sincerity and stay true to integrity" on life's journey.
The venue also features a street sign with distinctive Hong Kong character, carrying an integrity message, is merged with the ICAC's classic coffee cup to invite everyone to "set off with sincerity and stay true to integrity" (以誠啟程 守正前行).
The tagline "the ICAC is inviting you for coffee" (廉署請飲咖啡) carries a special meaning for Hong Kong citizens, referring to being invited to the ICAC for an investigation. Leveraging this iconic association, and emphasising sustainability alongside the ICAC's renowned coffee culture, the pop-up will feature demonstrations showing how recycled coffee grounds are upcycled into eco-friendly 3D-printing filaments, which are then turned into ICAC-themed cultural keepsakes.
Visitors are also invited to take part in a quiz for a chance to redeem 3D-printed charms made from coffee grounds and limited-edition street sign keychains, while supplies last.

Visitors touring Café "1974" and the exhibition hall during the National Day period will receive a limited-edition layered stamp card marking the National Day. The stamp card features iconic landmarks of both mainland China and Hong Kong, reflecting the city's prosperity with the motherland at its back. In addition, Café "1974" and the ICAC exhibition hall feature several National Day-themed installations, including a roadside wide-angle selfie mirror, a giant National Day poster, and a photo backdrop, allowing visitors to take photos.
To make it easier for the public and visitors to drop by during the National Day holiday, the ICAC exhibition hall and Café "1974" will be open all day from 1 to 3 October and 5 to 7 October.
