In conjunction with Malaysia's 56th Independence Day celebration, Astro has launched multiple initiatives to celebrate the best of Malaysia through a variety of activities on air, online and on ground to spread positivity and happiness.Astro has unveiled the #UrMalaysianIsShowing and #gobeyond campaigns, as well as a new music video, entitled Excuse me Sir, your Malaysian is showing.The music video, performed by Zahid, Adira , Jie Ying, Jinny Boy, Shantesh and Anantha, celebrates the uniqueness of Malaysians and their lingo and is currently aired across all Astro channels.The #UrMalaysianIsShowing Facebook app celebrates the unique Malaysian lingo, such as Syok!,Gostan, Brudder, Fuyoh, Macha. Through this campaign, users can create their own Malaysian T-shirts using the lingos. The most voted t-shirt will be produced for a charity sale where all proceeds from the T-Shirt sales will be donated to Astro Kasih.The #UrMalaysianIsShowing campaign will run from 15 August to 16 September 2013 and will comprise TV, print and digital advertisements. Agencies involved in this campaign include The Wizard's Room (Creative), Mindshare (Media) and VLT (Digital).Astro also launched the nationwide Go Beyond movement featuring the Positive Engine, a contraption that demonstrates and encourages acts of kindness and positivity. Every time someone does a positive act, he or she is encouraged to share it via #gobeyond hashtag, which will then trigger the Positive Engine. The contraption is the first of its kind that features Malaysian landmarks and is housed in the 3rd floor in Mid Valley Megamall."Your positive action can be helping someone in need or even writing an inspiring message, which will trigger the Positive Engine. Every positive act will be tabulated. To date, we have received over 140,000 positive contributions and we are aiming to exceed the million mark," said Henry Tan, chief operating officer, Astro.Agencies involved in the #gobeyond campaign include: The Wizard's Room, Naga DDB & Shen's Imagineering (Creative), Mindshare (Media) and XMJWTS, DRAGONSOFT & BITE (Digital).
