HSBC Malaysia elevates Heather Goh to head of customers and marketing

HSBC Malaysia has promoted Heather Goh to head of customers and marketing, wealth and personal banking. She was previously head of digital for wealth and personal banking for about two years and according to her LinkedIn, led the team through the successful transformation of digital capabilities.

In a statement to A+M, Goh said the focus on digital remains a key priority for the bank. In her new role, she will continue to be passionate in delivering HSBC's vision of customer-centricity, leveraging on insights and voice of the customers to ensure that the capabilities, propositions and offers that it brings remains competitive and relevant to its customers.

"As a brand, HSBC has the unique strength of being an international bank backed by strong global footprint and trusted local expertise to drive winning differentiation for us in Malaysia. Our technology strategy is all about creating great customer experiences and as people lead increasingly digital lives, our aim is to be the bank in each of our customer’s pocket," she added.

Goh was previously the CMO of BIG Rewards for more than a year, during which she managed the regional marketing teams in Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Thailand. She also led the brand and creative, marketing and social, and digital performance marketing teams, as well as membership services team. In her time at BIG Rewards, Goh was said to have transformed the regional marketing team, accelerated the speed of localisation and real-time delivery, as well as revamped its branding to position it as the lifestyle super app, her LinkedIn added.

Prior to BIG Rewards, Goh was with Maybank as head of Maybank2u, its online banking site. In that role, she set the direction and was accountable for driving the overall business of Maybank2u through Internet banking and mobile banking to meet the bank’s objectives. She has also worked at Celcom Axiata, Nokia, Guinness Anchor and UOB.
