HSBC Hong Kong has appointed Watson Tan (pictured) as vice present of customer journey and engagement. According to Tan's LinkedIn, Tan describes herself as a big believer in the power of communications to meet business goals and she focuses on strategic consultancy, content creation and media relations.

"I work with amazing brands in both B2C and B2B tech space, including Carousell, Stripe, Airwallex and SolarWinds, to tell great stories that resonate with their target audience, making the complicated simple and relevant," the description read.

Tan joined HSBC as business banking content strategist back in March last year, where she was responsible for developing, executing and reviewing content strategies with the team so as to engage with SME communities effectively and drive new revenue streams through content marketing and campaigns, as well as facilitate innovation of the bank.

Tan also collaborated with internal and external stakeholders from content planning to on time completion of quality deliverables, designed marketing campaigns, connected with business partners, conducted market research and collected user feedback for product and capability enhancement.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to HSBC for further information.

Prior joining HSBC, Tan was a tech PR consultant at global agency Archetype where she worked with clients such as Carousell, Stripe and SolarWinds. She has also garnered experience in content creation, media relations and strategic consultancy.

On the other hand, HSBC saw a senior departure in October this year. Richa Goswami, chief customer and marketing officer at HSBC will be stepping down from her role. She joined the company in 2020 as global head of customer and international, wealth and personal banking at HSBC after spending five years at J&J.
