HSBC and Dentsu Creative win big at the #MarketingEventsAwards 2023

HSBC was crowned overall Event Marketer of the Year at the 12th edition of the annual Marketing Events Awards. The brand received strong recognition for their campaign “HEX ‘+’”, “HSBC TravelOne Credit Card Launch – Unlocking a World of Travel Freedom”, and “Play for Goodwinning” in categories such as ‘Best Use of Influencers / KOLs’ and ‘Best Use of Hosting Platforms’, winning four gold, six silver and seven bronze trophies, ultimately securing their way to the top.

Coming in a close second was both Singtel and Asia Pacific Breweries. Singtel impressed the judges with their campaign “5G Live Activation” and “Singtel 5G Powers All You Love, Everywhere”, while the latter received high remarks for their campaign “Tiger Uncage Festival: Twist to the Night x Tiger Soju” and “Heineken Silver The Ghosted Bar”.

Other notable winners included Activision Blizzard, Diageo, adidas, T.C. Pharmaceutical Industries, Pacific Refreshments (Coca-Cola), DBS Bank, Ministry of National Development, Daniel Boey Creatives, Fortinet, Razer, Unilever Singapore, and Watsons.

As well as recognising the success of brands and advertisers, the Marketing Events Awards also celebrates the outstanding work of the agencies that clients have partnered with. This year saw Dentsu Creative take home the coveted “Overall Event Agency of the Year 2023” title having earned three gold, three silver and two bronze trophies. This was for their works “The Travelling Void Deck” and “Warzone 2.0 DMZ Loot Ops” on behalf of their clients “Ministry of National Development” and “Activision Blizzard” respectively, which topped categories, such as ‘Best Government Sector / Non-Profit’ and ‘Best Government Sector / Non-Profit’. 

In close runner-up was Oceanus Media Global with their campaigns “Razer Con 2022” for Razer, “The Front Row 2022” for Daniel Boey Creatives, and “Halloween Horror Nights 10” for Universal Studios Singapore. Equally as great was Rebel & Soul with their campaign “Depth of Blue” for Diageo and “HSBC TravelOne Credit Card Launch – Unlocking a World of Travel Freedom” for HSBC.

Other stand out agencies on the night included Leo Burnett, PICO, Current Global, Fabrik Asia, Mango Digital, Mastercard (Advisors Client Services), MUST Experience, Financial Times, Ogilvy Singapore, POPPER ASIA, Kingsmen Exhibits, KR+D, ABrandADay, ALIVE, INK Marketing, Invade, SGAG, Unearthed Productions, Jack Morton Worldwide, MCI Group Asia Pacific.
