Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta has appointed Emy Maming (pictured) as its new director of sales and marketing, bringing a hospitality veteran with more than 17 years of experience into a key leadership role as the hotel looks to strengthen its market positioning and growth.

Maming will oversee the property's sales, marketing and communications functions, with a focus on pricing strategy and RevPAR Index (RGI) growth. She will also lead the hotel's commercial outreach across corporate and MICE segments.

She joins Hotel Indonesia Kempinski after holding senior roles at Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, Gran Melia Jakarta, Oakwood Suites Jakarta Kuningan and Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel.

Her appointment comes alongside that of Martin Schaumburg as director of food and beverage. Schaumburg joins from Taschenbergpalais Kempinski in Dresden, Germany, and brings experience across hospitality operations in Asia and Europe.

At Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, he will oversee the hotel's restaurants, bars, lounges and banquet facilities, with a focus on introducing new concepts while maintaining service standards.

Petra Baumann, general manager of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, said the two appointments would combine local market expertise with international hospitality experience.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome both Emy and Martin to our executive team here in Jakarta. Emy's profound understanding of the dynamic Indonesian market, combined with Martin's stellar global expertise and deep familiarity with the Kempinski heritage, makes them the perfect duo to elevate our commercial and culinary offerings,” said Baumann.

The 289-room hotel is positioning its location in central Jakarta, along with its MICE facilities and dining portfolio, as key pillars of its luxury offering. Its venues include Signatures Restaurant, OKU and Paulaner Bräuhaus, while its event spaces cater to corporate gatherings, summits and weddings.

Earlier, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta marked its 64th anniversary with Ādi-Kartā, an August-long celebration honouring President Sukarno’s artistic and cultural vision for the hotel. The programme featured the ‘The founders: A legacy beyond time’ art exhibition, a rare 1964 volume documenting Sukarno’s private art collection, and a partnership bringing the 1980s icon Si Unyil to younger generations through social media, family activities and branded experiences.
