Social media management platform Hootsuite has appointed Penny Wilson (pictured) as its new chief marketing officer.
Wilson will lead Hootsuite’s global marketing organisation and help drive the growth of its customer base of more than ten million users. She will be based at the company’s headquarters in Vancouver.
Wilson has more than 30 years of experience as a senior marketing and operations executive at large enterprise technology companies. She served as CMO for Juniper Networks where her focus on developing the company’s cross portfolio solutions, establishing clear customer value and ensuring a consistent global brand helped transform Juniper’s market strategy from technology-driven into customer-driven.
Wilson also served as CMO at Macromedia where she led the company’s worldwide marketing efforts up to and through Macromedia’s successful US$3.4 billion acquisition by Adobe Systems.
“Hootsuite is an innovative company with a remarkable brand and customer base. I’m excited to join such an energetic team with a great track record, and look forward to helping Hootsuite continue to revolutionize the way businesses communicate using social media,” Wilson said.
“We are pleased to have Wilson join the Hootsuite team and lead our global marketing organization. Hootsuite has a unique history of amazing marketing and brand campaigns and we’re excited to have Wilson share her enterprise experience and help propel us to the next level,” Ryan Holmes, CEO of Hootsuite, said.
