The Grounds opens as Hong Kong's first entertainment venue for the new normal

In a bit of good news for Hongkongers who miss large events and social gatherings (remember those?), The Grounds at AIA Vitality Park has opened in Central.

With the pandemic still an ever-present part of our reality, The Grounds offers guests the chance to get out and play while maintaining a safe distance from others. As the first "socially distanced entertainment experience" designed for the COVID-19 era, the space is broken up into 100 private pods for two or four people at a time, making it an excellent option for a date or night out with a few close friends. Within the pods, guests can scan a QR code and order F&B options provided by Hong Kong restaurants and The Grounds' official wine partner, Penfolds Max's.

The pods face a stage and a large LED screen which will help the venue play host to everything from live music to movie nights to stand-up comedy and more. On their website, The Grounds has already packed a schedule of socially distanced programming through November into December. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.

“We want to give Hong Kong something new to look forward to, while at the same time creating an opportunity for the local entertainment and hospitality industries to engage with audiences in an innovative, comfortable and safe environment,” said Simon Wilson, managing director at The Grounds.

“As we navigate this new global normal, The Grounds is designed to allow guests to play, socialise and be entertained responsibly."
