HKBN Group appoints Sam Tan as its first chief innovation officer

HKBN Group has named Sam Tan as its chief innovation officer (CIO), a new position that supersedes the responsibilities of the traditional chief information officer role. He has also been named as a company co-owner.As CIO, Tan will be responsible for the group's information technology strategy. His goal will be to drive innovation for greater internal efficiency, improving HKBN's position to help external customers reap the full benefits of the company's digital transformation."We must break free from the legacy backend-focused IT framework. We are here to deliver total business impact rather than crunching input costs and effort," said Tan.Prior to this appointment, Tan was vice president and CIO at AECOM.
