Hill+Knowlton announces new Asia leadership

PR firm Hill+Knowlton Strategies has announced four appointments to strengthen its Asia team.

In Hong Kong Rachel Chan has been promoted to managing director, bringing nine years experiences to the role.

Joining her is K.W. Lam, who takes on the role of deputy managing director. Lam had served as general manager of its financial practice for the past five years.

In South Asia, Radhika Shapoorjee, who had served as president of H+K IPAN since 2008, has been promoted to president.

Sara Gourlay has also been promoted to COO of H+K Strategies India, based in New Delhi.

Martin said the appointments illustrate the growing importance of Asia's emerging markets.

"Today 60% of our clients' business lives in Asia, with a full one-fifth of which lives in China, which is also the largest economy in the world after the United States" Martin said.

"The influence of China and broader Asia on our firm makes the region a top priority for me and for our firm."
