This year, for us, has been one where we truly began to internally challenge the norms and rethink our processes. Like many of our marketing and advertising friends in the industry, we embraced agility and made every decision, first asking ourselves “Why?” and "Are we putting our readers first?"
While we are aware the changes will not materialise overnight, internally we are excited for the new year. Just to give you a sneak peak, in 2019, we are excited to take more of our events regional, to really understand the cultural and digital nuances in each and every country we have a readership in. Content, of course, at the end of the day is at the heart of everything we do, so be ready to see a lot more of us coming in 2019!
Online, we managed to grow our audience numbers, and all this is thanks to you – our readers. Our audience figures in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia have grown in healthy figures thanks to industry exclusives, scoops and the analysis pieces look forward to creating (both online and offline). But the reality is, despite the hard work, we couldn’t have reached it without your support, tip offs and opinions. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
As I have said to many of you over lunch or drinks (and also borrowing from an interview I conducted earlier in the year), if I could summarise 2018 (and possibly 2019) in one simple line, it would be that “It is like changing the wheels of the bus while keeping it moving.”
And that’s exactly what we will be doing moving forward. So before we get our engines revved up for the new year, the Marketing magazine and A+M team will be taking a short commercial break (pun intended), to unwind and enjoy the holiday season. Over the next week, we’ve rounded up newsletters containing all the year’s top stories for you to enjoy as we head into an exciting new year.
We will be back online on 2 January, so in the meantime we wish you an amazing holiday, filled with great food, drinks, friends and family.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from all of us!
The Marketing Magazine and A+M team.
