Gushcloud grows Australia footprint with MODA acquisition

Global digital talent agency group Gushcloud International has acquired MODA Creative, an Australian-based digital talent management company. As part of the acquisition, MODA Creative will be rebranded to MODA Creators, and will be launched under Gushcloud's talent management arm, Gushcloud Talent Agency.

According to a press release, Gushcloud International aims to focus on digital talents and influencers in the fashion vertical, reinforcing the group's strength in its female-centric talents and audiences who follow them. Gushcloud International will continue to manage and represent Australian fashion and lifestyle influencers such as Brooke Iseppi, Shiralee Coleman, Davina Rankin, and Lily May Mac. Together, they have over six million followers.

MODA Creators was founded by Zubie Brown (pictured) in 2014, and claims to have "several top Australia-based digital talents and influencers" on its roster. Its official website states that the talent management company has over 4000  influencers worldwide. Some of the brands that MODA Creators has worked with include Coca Cola, Huawei, Skechers, Grazia, and Louis Vuitton.

Brown had been working with Gushcloud International on a campaign basis prior to the acquisition. Summer International, one of Gushcloud’s companies focused on social commerce, was the company that partnered with Lily May Mac to launch beauty lipstick line Lilac. Brown will continue to lead MODA Creators as the head of talent for the fashion, travel and lifestyle vertical.

Commenting on the acquisition, Brown said MODA Creators has "forged a trusted working relationship" with some of Gushcloud International's key management. She added that MODA Creators is on the same page with Gushcloud International when it comes to its vision of building a sustainable digital talent economy.

"This acquisition will now allow us to offer unparalleled global exposure and key services to the talents in our fashion, travel, and lifestyle roster as we also continue to expand this roster beyond just Australia. I am honored with this opportunity to continue building out our combined vision alongside the Gushcloud team," Brown said.

Gushcloud International currently operates in 11 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. The talent agency represents over 13,000 influencers globally with 300 exclusively signed talent. This month, it launched a Gen Z division under its talent arm that is said to specifically support young digital content creators. This comes after the team at Gushcloud observed a “continuous increase in inquiries” from brands for influencers who belong to the Gen Z demographic cohort.

Marketing has reached out for additional information.

Althea Lim, CEO of Gushcloud International Group, said with the acquisition, the talents signed to MODA Creators will gain access to Gushcloud’s professional services and the 11 markets it is in, as well as other forms of monetisation Gushcloud offers.

“During the last couple of years, Gushcloud International has built the strongest roster of family, beauty, and wellness influencers and digital talents globally. With MODA Creators headed by Zubie Brown, we believe that collectively as a team, we will now be able to expand our portfolio and represent top digital talents in the fashion, travel, and lifestyle verticals globally," Lim added.
