Grey Malaysia has brought on board Jeremy Yeoh as deputy ECD and promoted Heng Thang Wei to the same role. Yeoh and Heng now share joint responsibility over Grey Malaysia’s portfolio of clients, including Telekom Malaysia, Unifi, Carlsberg, Volvo and Coway. Both report to chief creative officer Graham Drew.

Yeoh was previously with Naga DDB Tribal as creative director heading up KFC, Prudential and Wonda Coffee. He has been in the adland for 15 years and according to him, moving up to ECD is a big step, something he did not take lightly, but his ambitions to create big, impactful work found a good home here. "If the photoshoot is anything to go by, Heng and I already have a great synergy," he added.

Meanwhile, Heng was most recently creative director and has been with the agency since 2014, joining from Leo Burnett as a senior art director. Since that time, Heng has grown to lead his own team, heading up the Coway and Lenovo accounts and playing a fundamental role on work for Tesco and WWF.

"I’ve learnt so much during my time here and we’ve achieved things that we never thought possible on the global creative stage. Now that I’ve seen what’s possible, I’m only hungry for more and with Yeoh on board we can do even greater work," he added.

Meanwhile, Drew said Yeoh is a talent that has been on his radar "for such a long time", from the culturally defining work on KFC, to societal causes such as the "Nursery Crimes" work. Meanwhile, he described Heng to be "an irreplaceable wing man" throughout his time at Grey. "With so much energy and talent, it’s with genuine pride that I’ve seen him grow into the creative leader he is today," he said of Heng.

"The prospect of having two such creative minds working together and sparking off each other as a team is so exciting – these two can only push us even higher," Drew added.
