Grand Hyatt Hong Kong unveils 3D culinary magic at the table

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has taken customer experience to the next level with the launch of a 3D visual dining experience - The Magic Table, available from 17 September.

Curated by The Clairvoyants, Grand Hyatt is the first location to debut this experience worldwide.

In conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Eva Kwok, director of marketing and communications, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, said the Clairvoyants aim to create a completely new form of magic: up close, personal - and right at the table.

“They have crafted a world in which the table becomes the storyteller, where magic breathes life into dishes and guests don't just observe but actively participate in the unfolding narrative. They have passionately developed The Magic Table as a tribute to the magicians who inspired them. The 5-course menu unfolds like a storybook, with each course unveiling a new chapter.”

The Magic Table offers an innovative experience that blends magic with personal engagement, allowing guests to feel intimately connected to the performance. By transforming the table into a storyteller, it turns dishes into narratives that involve attendees as active participants.

The incorporation of 3D projections and interactive elements adds dynamic twists to the evening, enhancing the emotional connection between guests and the magic.

This unique dining adventure also serves as a tribute to the great magicians in history, presenting a novel way to experience both culinary artistry and magic through an exclusive five-course menu that unfolds like a captivating story.

Given the overwhelming demand for Le Petit Chef, which remains fully booked at least a month in advance, it is evident that the Hong Kong market is seeking novel experiences, said Kwok. “When we first encountered this idea, we were intrigued, as nothing similar exists in the current market landscape. Beyond the captivating 3D projections, this interactive experience allows audiences to influence the unfolding narrative. Leveraging our hotel's expertise in fine dining, we are confident in bringing this concept to life and curating a magical dining experience for our esteemed guests.”

Behind The Magic Table are none other than Thommy Ten & Amélie van Tass, known worldwide as The Clairvoyants. As world champions of mental magic, through their unique performances on America's Got Talent, in Las Vegas, and on international stages, have been headlined over 500 shows and captivated millions of people, according to the release.

The exquisite menu features a luxurious five-course dining experience including beef tartare, complemented by a velvety foie gras with port wine gel and black truffle. The culinary magic continues with the beef tenderloin and lobster, sided with citrus beurre blanc and truffle potato purée. The meal concludes with a sweet note of chocolate sphere with poached peach.

To debut this exclusive experience, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is actively engaged in PR pitching and online advertising during the pre-launch phase, said Kwok. “We have invited Thommy from The Clairvoyants to Hong Kong in mid-September to generate additional social media content for the Hong Kong show. To ensure sustained exposure post-launch, our team is establishing accounts on review platforms such as Google and TripAdvisor, enabling guests to share their firsthand experiences with the public.”

“Our culinary and service team deserve gratitude for bringing this innovative concept to life and wowing our guests. At an esteemed hotel such as Grand Hyatt, we are excited to offer new experiences that will enchant our guests while maintaining our exceptional standards,” she added.

This move follows the recent launch of a 3D visual dining experience with the world's smallest chef Le Petit Chef at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. As the first-ever debut of “The Beginning” culinary adventure story in Hong Kong, Le Petit Chef’s dining room sets the theatre for the unique dining and entertainment experience.

This fun-filled culinary adventure came alive with 3D visual mappings that invite guests to follow the six-cm-tall little chef from France on his quest to gather the finest ingredients, all while witnessing the expert preparation of their exquisite dinner.

On the other hand, the hotel is also celebrating the festive spirit of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival with exquisite mooncakes presented in elegant packaging including a full moon box, bright moon box and the One Harbour Road collection box featuring innovative flavours.
