Google backs female entrepreneurs

Google has kick-started an initiative to support female entrepreneurs to building their business online.

Under the initiative Google, The Entrepreneurs Club and the General Assembly have jointly launched Women Entrepreneurs Online to raise awareness, educate and inspire a new generation of women entrepreneurs.

Susan Pointer, Google's senior director of public policy & government relations, said initiative aims to empower female entrepreneurs by educating them through training, workshops and networking events.

WEO has already launhed in India, Singapore and Russia and now Hong Kong.

Five events including two training workshops and three networking events sharing the same goal will be launched later this year.
