GolinHarris snaps up PR duties for Canon Hong Kong

Canon has appointed GolinHarris to handle its strategic corporate communications in 2014. The 12-month retainer includes a strong CSR component, with the agency set to provide strategic directive.

GolinHarris oversaw marketing and communications for the Canon PhotoMarathon 2013 Hong Kong, a large-scale photography competition for amateur photographers, which has been successfully hosted in more than ten South-East Asian cities.

“GolinHarris impressed us with their dedication, professionalism and dynamic team spirit. Their credentials are well known, they have deep insight in the local market, and we are excited to continue working with them as they champion our valued brand,” said Candy Mau, Senior Manager of Canon’s Corporate Communications Division, Canon Hongkong.

The retainer will include strategic consultation, planning, and corporate branding and messaging, to continue to position Canon as a leader in the imaging industry in Hong Kong. GH is also set to continue their partnership with responsibility for the Canon PhotoMarathon 2014, while providing important strategic input towards packaging the brand’s CSR initiatives.

“We are very excited to extend our partnership with Canon Hongkong as we work together to elevate their brand to new heights in 2014. Our unique g4 agency structure is well-suited to this task and will add significant value to our client’s campaign,” said Kennes Young, head of consumer practice, GolinHarris Hong Kong.
