Financial supermarket GoBear has appointed Nelson Allen (pictured) as chief marketing officer. Having joined the company at the start of April, Allen focuses on defining GoBear’s overall marketing strategy, further growing its brand awareness, and aligning the company’s marketing executions to scale. With two decades of experience mainly gained in the Asia Pacific region, Allen was previously general manager of Hotels.com for APAC at Expedia where he accelerated business growth across the region. Prior to that, he held the role of Microsoft’s APAC director for Xbox. Allen started his marketing career with Samsung in Korea where he helped the company strengthen its global marketing strategy while working as an internal consultant in the global strategy group, before ultimately assuming the role of marketing director for its digital media business. Allen enjoys the nimbleness of new establishments that allows them to be truly customer-driven, and the energy of close working teams who are passionate about changing the world. These were the two factors he found instrumental in his decision to join GoBear, according to a press release. “GoBear already has an amazing brand platform, so there are huge opportunities to build 'brand love' in new and innovative ways with our end consumers across Asia. I’m also firmly committed to the company’s mission of helping people improve their financial health," said Allen. Adrian Chng, CEO of GoBear said: “Allen has a solid track record in strategy and integrated marketing, having worked with some of the world’s biggest brands such as Microsoft and Samsung. He’ll make a great addition to our culture, and I’m eager to see where he takes our Bear!”
