GO-JEK and Telkomsel strike mobile data partnership for drivers

GO-JEK and Telkomsel have struck a partnership to help improve the welfare of GO-JEK drivers on a telecommunications front. This will culminate in the launch of Paket Siap Online (Online Ready Package) for driver partners across Indonesia, in a bid to cut phone credit and telecommunication cost.

The Online Ready Package is a continuation of GO-JEK and Telkomsel’s previous cooperation, which saw Telkomsel providing a number of starter packages for GO-JEK’s driver partners. The new package looks to further support their increasing mobility and internet data access for drivers.

Through the move, GO-JEK is looking to help its partners have sustainable income, Jaka Wiradisuria, vice president driver community, GO-JEK said. He added: “Based on our data, we can see that phone credit and telecommunication needs are one of the most important things for our driver partners, and it is quite costly for them.”

Primadi K. Putra, vice president corporate account management Telkomsel explained that the Online Ready Package is also expected to help bolster productivity and lower phone credit costs for driver partners. Ultimately, both entities aim for the solution to help drivers maximise their income and support the nation’s economic growth.

“Thank you to GO-JEK for putting its trust in Telkomsel’s corporate business solution, just like other 15,000 Telkomsel’s corporate customers,” he added.

Most recently, GO-JEK expanded into Vietnam and Thailand, establishing two locally founded companies in the process. This will see both market being run by locally-founded management teams, while GO-JEK provides the knowledge, expertise, technology and investment. The move will also see the creation of new brands, namely GO-VIET in Vietnam, and GET in Thailand.
