Hong Kong will become the third stop of art installation KAWS:HOLIDAY to showcase a 37-metre long signature character created by American artist KAWS. Working again with long term partner AllRightsReserved, KAWS produced a monumental sized version of COMPANION - a signature character of the artist - that will be on display in the Victoria Harbour from 22 to 31 March 2019 in Hong Kong. It is the largest reclined sculptural endeavour by the artist to date. “In 2010, we first brought KAWS to Hong Kong. We are very excited to present this colossal outdoor artwork KAWS:HOLIDAY in our hometown Hong Kong, almost 10 years after our first meeting," said SK Lam, creative director and curator of AllRightsReserved. Previously staged in Seoul and Taipei, KAWS:HOLIDAY's Hong Kong appearance will coincide with the city's annual Arts Month celebration. The installation is presented by Asia Miles and supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. A series of limited-edition collectables have also been created for KAWS:HOLIDAY in collaboration with AllRightsReserved, including a limited soft toys pack, bath toys, floating beds, a “Hong Kong Stop” T-Shirt, and a tote bag. Anthony Lau, executive director, Hong Kong Tourism Board said, “March is the annual Arts Month of Hong Kong, where there are all sorts of arts and cultural happenings in town attracting art lovers from around the world to come visit.  As one of the Art Month’s highlights, KAWS:HOLIDAY will for sure draw more international exposure, reinforcing image of Hong Kong as an international art hub.” As one of the presenters, Asia Miles will launch a series of events at Tamar Park from 22 to 24 March, including a yoga experience session and Instagram photography workshop open exclusively to Asia Miles' members, featuring an Instagram selfie tutorial and brunch session at FLOAT, No. 9 Central Pier.
