Malaysia – Guinness has revived its St Patrick’s Day celebrations for a seventh consecutive year, with more on-ground events and a digital campaign to support the celebration.
The month-long “March more fun” celebration will see the Guinness St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl on 15 and 16 March in Klang Valley, with a Facebook contest launched to give out passes to the event.
Celebrations extends nationwide with some 70 parties to be held at selected locations and a Guinness St. Patrick’s Big Weekend Bash.
Thum Chee Yuen, sales director at GAB, said the company now plays host to the biggest St Patrick’s party in Asia and this year hopes to take the festivities up a notch by adding a new spin to it in the form of the pub crawl.
Drink Sensibly Angels will be provide water bottles and food during the pub crawl journey, with a Drink Sensibly mobile application launched to complement the entire campaign.
Drink Sensibly Angels is available for free for iPhones and android phones. A web-based version was also released for Blackberry and feature phones with web access.
The St. Patrick’s celebrations will be heavily promoted via Guinness Malaysia’s Facebook page and print ads in major dailies throughout the month.
