For the fourth consecutive year, FWD Group has continued its sponsorship of the North Pole Marathon, while undertaking other environmental protection plans.

In addition to its base sponsorship of the event, which officially commences on 13 April 2020, FWD will be forming a team for the marathon by supporting 12 runners from across Asia. Among these FWD Team Asia runners, four are from Hong Kong, including actress Annie Liu, singer Andy Leung, experienced marathon runner Hard Tsui, and ultra-marathon runner Wong Ho-fai.

To promote the event, FWD has created a series of promotional #MyCoolestFace videos, featuring the four Hong Kong runners with faces painted in snow-like makeup to accentuate the extreme of cold in the Arctic, highlighting their determination to conquer the North Pole.

"We are very honoured to again be the title sponsor of the North Pole Marathon and support the runners to challenge the Arctic. At FWD, we pride ourselves in our challenger brand values and will start doing our part in helping preserve the environment we live in and encourage people to celebrate living," said Ken Lau, managing director of Greater China and Hong Kong CEO of FWD.

In addition to the North Pole Marathon, FWD is also working with reforestation enterprise EcoMatcher to plant three forests across Asia in locations such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. Other forestation efforts include the plan for planting 1,000 trees in Thailand and Nepal respectively, which are equivalent to two forests.
