FutureBrand has promoted Gianni Tozzi to the role of chief creative officer, international. Operating out of Milan, Tozzi will oversee the entire creative output of FutureBrand across both the European and Asian markets. He has been with the agency for over a decade as ECD, during which FutureBrand said Tozzi significantly grew the agency’s offering, and participated in international projects and pitches.
In his new role, Tozzi will also continue to leverage the international talent across FutureBrand's network and work to further amplify the agency's creative reputation within the industry. According to his LinkedIn, he was previously based in London as Brand Union's creative director for more than four years. Prior to that, he was a freelance designer and worked on brands including Motorola, BBC, Fjord, and Amassmedia.
In a statement to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Tozzi said his time at FutureBrand Milan allowed him to expand his expertise in branding to cover the full spectrum of creativity and design, running projects on packaging, visual identity, retail and digital.
"Italy taught me a lot, particularly in sectors such as food and fashion which are at the core of Italian expertise and its global reputation. Nevertheless, stepping into a more international role with this appointment brings me back to my creative roots, having started my career working with international clients. Today, I come prepared with a stronger know-how and a much thicker portfolio!" he added.
According to him, the Asia Pacific market is full of ideas which are "bigger and moving faster than other regions" at the moment, and that is what attracts him the most. Tozzi added that the younger generation in the market are also very receptive to good ideas and creativity. Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian market in particular presents a great opportunity for both local and imported brands, Tozzi said.
"However, the future of branding is truly global and goes beyond the scale of a company or scope of an idea. Nowadays projects are faster and more dynamic, with a good deal of pragmatism and trial and error already embedded into them," he added.
FutureBrand's global CEO Nick Sykes said Tozzi has been an invaluable asset to its international team during his 12 years with the agency, leading the development of creative work from FutureBrand Milan. "Under his tutelage, we know our creative teams will continue to flourish and produce industry-leading work," he added.
