Fulford PR acquires boutique firm

Singapore - In a move top bolster its local as well as regional presence, Singapore-based PR firm Fulford Public Relations has acquired Chrysler Communications, a boutique PR agency.

With the acquisition, Chrysler's founder and managing director, Marina Mathews (pictured), assumes the helm at Fulford PR, bringing with her a team specialising in F&B, lifestyle, luxury and corporate PR.

The move comes after founder and managing director Linda Fulford took on a new role in parent agency brandRapport's UK headquarters in London. The agency was headed jointly by directors Eileen A. Chua and Ronda Ng Doswell, in the interim.

Ng, however, left the agency late last year.

In 2010, Fulford PR was acquired by London-based Ingenious Media Group, with offices in the UK and Hong Kong, operating under the brandRapport banner.

Chrysler's clientele includes brands such as publicly-listed service and virtual office provider, Servcorp, F&B names Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse and Fine Palate Catering & Café, and popular exclusive nightspot Pangaea.

Having operated in Singapore for 13 years, Fulford PR's expertise covers a range of sports, consumer and corporate clients. Sports clients include the inaugural Formula 1TM SingTel Singapore Grand Prix, Singapore Sports Hub, and longstanding clients such as the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore, IMG, and the FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup. Other consumer and corporate clients include fine spirits distributor Beam Global Asia, Base Entertainment, Lee Hwa Jewellery, Nike, The Outnet.com and the Workforce Development Agency.

"We are proud to now be associated with an agency with as illustrious and respected a heritage as Fulford PR," Mathews said.

"We are expecting an exciting few months ahead, with new developments already in the works to further enhance and augment the agency's core offerings, news of which will be announced in due course."

"Singapore is a highly important strategic market to us, as both an economic and cultural centre in its own right, as well as a gateway to Southeast Asia that presents a wealth of business opportunities. With this acquisition of Chrysler Communications, we are confident that Fulford PR, as our Asian flagship, will continue to deliver on the great work it has done all these years," Ross Collett, head of Asia for brandRapport, Fulford PR's parent company, said.
