Former SMRT CEO Desmond Kuek starts up consultancy firm

Former SMRT CEO, Desmond Kuek (pictured), who stepped down in April, has started a leadership consultancy company called Genium & Co, aimed to provide organisational training and development for those in the private and public organisations in Singapore. According to The Straits Times, Kuek formed the firm with his partners Fred Tan and Ang Yau Choon, who will be the consultancy's managing directors.In the article, Tan said that with the experience in leadership and management over the years, the team will be able to provide an Asian perspective for leaders to "effectively" lead self, lead teams and the organisation. The firm is also said to be in discussions with several public and private organisations.Some of the areas that the firm will be focusing on would be, organisational transformation, strategy execution, crisis leadership, experiential learning and performance excellence. The firm also looks to initiate its training programme from January. The ST article said that the firm looks to have a group of associate trainers to keep its overheads low.
