Grab has appointed Poh Leng Yu (pictured) as its communications consultant. Grab’s spokesperson has confirmed the appointment to Marketing. In her new role, Yu will be managing the internal and CEO communications across the ride-hailing company’s Southeast Asia markets. She brings with her over 20 years of expertise in corporate communication, public relations and marketing communication.
According to her LinkedIn, prior to joining Grab, Yu helped to develop social media content for Monetary Authority of Singapore and Singapore FinTech Festival 2018. She also helmed the role of senior vice president with Ruder Finn, and was with the agency for eight years. Yu have also held leadership positions in agencies such as Hill & Knowlton, Citigate Dewe Rogerson i.MAGE, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Coopers & Lybrand (now known as Pricewaterhousecoopers). Since 2010, she’s also the co-founder of an informal network, called Singapore PR Network, that organises talks for communications professionals.
Last November, Ken Mandel joined GrabAds as regional head, where he will work with GrabAds’ clients to create hyper-personalised experiences for consumers and grow Grab’s advertising offerings including fleet advertising and in-app customer engagement. He previously helmed the role of president, innovation and commerce, Asia Pacific at Publicis Media.
