Former CEO of Garuda Indonesia suspected in corruption case

Indonesia's anti-corruption agency is looking into the former CEO of Garuda Indonesia airlines for a bribery case. The case involves engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce and was for the time 2005 to 2014.While no names were mentioned, it is a well known fact that the CEO for the time stated was Emirsyah Satar. Satar is also currently holding the chairman role of Indonesian conglomerate Lippo Group's e-commerce platform MatahariMall.com.According to several media reports, Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said in a statement that CEO of Garuda was suspected of taking bribes related to activities of purchasing planes and machines from Rolls-Royce.According to a statement given to Business Times by a Garuda spokesperson, the corruption case is related individual actions rather than airline companies and Garuda is cooperating with KPK.
