Former Carat China CEO Wan Gyn Ang joins digital marketing firm Brainlabs as APAC SVP

Digital marketing agency Brainlabs has appointed Wan Gyn Ang, former CEO of Carat China, as its SVP for the APAC region. Ang (pictured) will be based in Singapore where Brainlabs launched its first APAC office earlier this year and will report into Brainlabs’ APAC CEO Mark Fagan.

She said that the use of experimentation-led marketing to drive more profit for clients and its exceptional people culture are what attracted her to the role. "The fast-evolving business landscape in the region means we are in a strategic position to help clients unlock business opportunities and respond to marketing challenges with Brainlabs’ unique go-to-market approach and marketing solutions," she added.

Meanwhile, Fagan said Ang's "impressive track record" of driving product innovation, business transformation and building strategies for a wide variety of clients across the Asia Pacific region, makes this an incredibly exciting prospect for Brainlabs' clients and and its fast growing team in Singapore.

Before Brainlabs, Ang was with Carat for two years where she was responsible for delivering data-driven communication strategies and transformative work across Carat's operations in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.Before that, she worked at PHD as MD for five years, where she was in charge of leading the agency, building a global strategic planning unit as well as enhancing service offerings both locally and regionally.

Prior to that, Ang was partner at M2M Singapore, a full service media network under Omnicom Media Group. She has also held previous roles as managing partner at Omnicom Media Group and as business director at OMD Media Direction and MEC.
