John Teoh has taken on the role of general manager at Y&R Malaysia. Teoh was previously GM at BBDO Malaysia, and left the role late last year after close to two years in the position. He was replaced in the role by Farrah Harith McPherson.
Teoh was also with BBDO Malaysia previously, holding the role of client service director and business head. He joined the organisation in 2011. Prior to the role, he was with Euro RSCG for approximately nine years.

In March this year, Y&R Malaysia appointed Emir Shafri to executive creative director, reporting to Y&R Asia regional chief creative officer Marcus Rebeschini. Following a successful five years at Y&R Singapore, where he helped expand its digital division as the agency’s Digital Lead, Shafri returned to KL as creative director in 2016. Now as Y&R Malaysia’s executive creative director, Shafri works in partnership with the agency’s group managing director Lisa Hezila.
This came shortly after Y&R Malaysia saw the exit of well known chief creative officer Gigi Lee, who moved on to join TBWAGroup Malaysia. She will be responsible for driving the creative output across all clients within TBWAGroup Malaysia – which includes Creative Juice and Digital Arts Network.
