Foodpanda has appointed Wavemaker to handle media duties in the Philippines for 2022, encompassing a wide breadth of its business, which includes media, activations, influencer management and PR. The appointment follows a five-way pitch. 

Roj Tirona, foodpanda’s senior manager of marketing communications said that with Wavemaker as a partner, the brand will be able to explore countless possibilities to provide the quick commerce experience that its communities deserve.

“As we grow, we stay committed to address the evolving needs of the Filipino customers through our growing range of services. And with this commitment, it is imperative to have a dependable, agile and committed partner to help move our campaigns forward and upward; making sure that we connect with Filipinos nationwide, especially during these trying times," Tirona said.

Tirona added: "We look forward to working with Wavemaker this year and positively impacting communities in unique and meaningful ways."

Meanwhile, CEO of Wavemaker Philipines, Malu Vasallo, said: "We are beyond excited to work with such a strategic and relevant partner in the pandemic. We are committed to growing the foodpanda business and supporting the digitalization of small to medium businesses. Together, we can help these SMEs rebound in the post-pandemic future." This development follows closely on the heels of another massive win for the agency in Zuellig Pharmaceuticals.

Separately, the brand works with OMD in Singapore and UM in Malaysia for media duties. Last December, the brand unveiled its brand ambassador, Pau Pau, a fun-loving and free-spirited panda that champions empowerment and sustainability across the region.
