Italian luxury fashion brand Fendi has reimagined its Spring 1993 Astrology collection with a summer twist starring Russian supermodel Irina Shayk.

Fendi announced the new collection, “Fendi Astrology”, with an ad campaign on its official website and on its social media platforms this week.

“Fendi Astrology” features designs curated by artistic director of coulture and womenswear Kim Jones with the zodiac sign prints designed and drawn by fashion mainstay Karl Lagerfield. The summer pieces embody silhouettes from Fendi’s Spring/Summer 1993 runway show and is now featured on Irina Shayk.

"This is a reflection of Fendi's past and present, curated for the summer ahead," according to Fendi in a statement.

The campaign was directed by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse, owner and creative director of luxury fashion advertising agency House + Holme, as well as Karl Bolander.

In the campaign, Shayk is seen wearing a swimwear with “VIRGO” boldly embedded on it, the piece blending beautifully with the Mediterranean beach backdrop, embodying the very vision of a splendid summer.

Accessories are also included in the collection, where the 12 astrological signs have been reinterpreted by Defina Delettrez, artistic director for Fendi in the form of sleek charms.

Luxury fashion brands have been forthcoming in their campaigning efforts as they push out new and reimagined pieces from their previous collections. Having recently launched a new campaign as well, Italian luxury fashion brand Prada's “The Glass Age” campaign stars internationally acclaimed actor Scarlett Johansson and its Prada Galleria handbag.

The Prada Galleria handbag, central to Prada’s identity, is celebrated alongside the actor, and is reimagined and designed by Venezuelan-American artist Alex Da Corte. Da Corte’s works span a range of media-video, performance, installation, painting, sculpture. This campaign marks his first work in the fashion realm.
