FCB Malaysia elevates Syahriza Badron to GM

FCB Malaysia has promoted Syahriza Badron to GM, seven years after she joined as an associate account director. Since then Syahriza (pictured) has risen through the ranks, being promoted in 2017 to senior account director and eventually helming the role of head of business development.

As GM, Syahriza will lead the agency's account management operations while retaining her existing business development portfolio. According to her, FCB's strength has always been its clearly defined purpose and culture - being Malaysia's challenger agency.

"That’s why I am incredibly honoured to take on this role as there’s no better time to challenge one’s self than now. I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us; be it in business, partnerships, talent development or even in making us a more efficient operating organisation," she added.

Meanwhile, FCB's co-owner and CEO Shaun Tay said Syahriza has been a massive part of FCB's consistent success since the management buyout three years ago. "The dedication and steadfastness she brings to the agency every day is an inspiration to us all and I’m proud to see her take a greater role in building our agency’s future," Tay added.

Meanwhile despite the buyout, Tay told A+M in a previous interview that the agency remains “very much a part of the FCB Worldwide network” as an affiliate business partner. The buyout offers FCB the ability to operate quickly and efficiently based on market conditions, while having access to a pool of global clients, agency tools and resources, Tay added.
