FALCON Malaysia’s MD Jordan Chua exits as agency moves HQ to Singapore

FALCON Agency’s partner and managing director, Jordan Chua (pictured), has left the agency. Chua joined FALCON last November, taking over from co-founders, Max-F. Scheichenost and Daniel Endres, who shifted their focus on growing key strategic clients and expanding the agency across key Southeast Asia markets.

In a statement to A+M, Scheichenost said due to the “exponential growth” of FALCON in Singapore since July 2016, the agency decided to move its headquarters from Malaysia to Singapore in June, with the regional senior leadership residing in Singapore.

“With this change in direction and by mutual agreement, Chua will depart to pursue new opportunities. We thank Chua for his contributions during his time as managing director of FALCON Malaysia,” he said.

Chua will be replaced by FALCON Malaysia’s project director, Elwin Tan. Meanwhile, current managing director of FALCON Singapore, Kelvin Koo, will take on the dual role of group CEO from November 2018. Koo will report to Scheichenost and Endres, who will both continue to focus on developing new offerings or services and expanding into new markets.

FALCON currently has 21 employees in Kuala Lumpur and 23 in Singapore, and it is “actively hiring” in both countries, Scheichenost said. Chua declined to comment on A+M‘s queries about his next move.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Chua was responsible for strengthening the regional management team and leading the Malaysian headquarters. He also worked closely with clients to drive innovative solutions and led digital transformation for brands in Malaysia and regionally.

Before joining FALCON, Chua was previously MD of Mirum Malaysia, a role he left last September. During his time there, he was responsible for setting-up the foundation for its digital transformation services. He also oversaw the overall business with a focus on business growth, people development, process frameworks definition and key client management duties. He was appointed to the role in April 2015 and replaced Rueben Anthony, who moved on to the regional role for Mirum Asia’s digital transformation and consulting unit as regional managing director for Mirum. Chua reported directly to Anthony.

Chua joined Mirum in 2014 from TBWA Group Kuala Lumpur, where was the digital planning director. He has also worked at Tequila-Myalo Malaysia as general manager. With over 20 years’ experience in the integrated marketing industry, Chua has worked with wide array of clients across multiple categories, including telecommunications, financial services, tourism, FMCG and retail.
