Eric Chiang named general manager for SAS Hong Kong

Global analytics software and services provider SAS has announced the appointment of Eric Chiang as general manager for SAS Hong Kong.

In this role, Chiang will be responsible for the strategic growth of SAS Hong Kong and strengthening the company's market position through solutions based around advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Chiang will report directly to SAS vice president and managing director for Greater China, Wilson Ho.

"I am delighted to welcome Eric to SAS. He brings a unique blend of experience and knowledge in the IT industry, with a well-rounded perspective on software, hardware and cloud applications. An innovative leader with a proven track record in bringing business benefits to organizations by leveraging on new technologies, Eric possesses strong business acumen and an extensive industry, customer and community network," Ho said.

An industry veteran of 30 years, Chiang holds a strong background in leadership and management. This includes overseeing APAC and individual country operations with several top multinational corporations. He previously served as senior sales director of JAPAC, global communications head for Oracle and country manager, Greater China for TIBCO Software.

Most recently, Chiang has served as a business advisor to leading companies across different business sectors, coaching top executives in strategic business planning.
