Edelman's APAC vice chairman Rupen Desai exits

Vice chairman, brand, APACMEA of Edelman, Rupen Desai (pictured) will be leaving the agency. Edelman has confirmed to Marketing his departure. In the interim, Jesse Lin, regional CEO, will work closely with the senior leadership to look at the shape of the team and the requisite skills needed to help drive the business forward during the transition period. In a statement to Marketing, an Edelman spokesperson said that in the two years with the firm, Desai built up a strong integrated brand practice, establishing both depth and breadth in digital, creative and planning. "He feels the time is right for the brand team to enter the next stage. A fantastic colleague, we would like to thank him for the contribution he has made and wish him all the best," the spokesperson added. Desai was previously APAC regional president for Lowe + Partners. He has been in the industry for 20 years, covering markets such as Mumbai, Dubai, Beirut, London, Bangkok and Singapore. He also led the global teams on Unilever’s “Dirt is good” campaign across 80 countries.
