Edelman bolsters financial team

Edelman has announced the hiring of Sophie Sophaon and George Lau to bolster its financial communications team in Hong Kong.The appointments will see both Sophaon and Lau work service current clients including Charles Schwaab, Daiwa and Lunar Capital.Prior to joining Edelman, Sophaon was vice president and director of client services at Walek & Associates, a New York-based boutique public relations agency, while Lau was at Haitong International Securities Group as senior manager in the group corporate communications and investor relations team."It has always been our primary objective to provide exceptional service to our clients, and with Sophie and George on board, we look forward to continuing our traditionally strong financial communications offering," said Andrew Kirk, managing director of Edelman Hong Kong and Taiwan.
