Dimsum, Malaysia’s subscription video-on-demand (VOD) service, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Artop Media Company in a bid to expand its Thai content offerings on the service. Some of the content on dimsum include drama titles such as You Are My Destiny, Flower Ring, and Fabulous 30.
Dimsum had also previously revealed its partnership with Thai media conglomerate, GMM Grammy in December 2017. As part of the partnership, GMM Grammy’s branded section on dimsum will also include Thai romance dramas such as Club Friday Celeb’s Stories, Love Book Love Series, and Love Song Love Series.
“Artop Media Company and GMM Grammy are great partners, and we are excited to work together to ensure Thai entertainment lovers in the region have access to the best Thai content,” Lam Swee Kim, chief marketing officer, dimsum said.
In a statement to A+M, Lam said dimsum is currently in discussions with several parties to make the service available in Thailand. To promote the expanded Thai offerings on the service, dimsum will have extensive promotions and artists tours several times a year.
This partnership follows dimsum’s expansion into Singapore after joining hands with StarHub in April 2018. Offered through the video streaming service StarHub Go, the lite version of dimsum offered content from China, Thailand, Japan and South Korea.
