Malaysia’s subscription video-on-demand (VOD) service, dimsum, has partnered with Chinese language radio station 988FM to offer content on current topics, entertainment, fashion and trends for free.
The content line up includes a range of topics in six customised segments on 988FM - Headline News, Entertainment, Tren ‘N’ Fun, Movie King, Friday Commentary, and Topline News. Each of these segments cover different news, issues and trends happening in Malaysia and worldwide.
In a statement to A+M, dimsum's CMO, Lam Swee Kim said this is an exclusive partnership, and it chose to tie-up with 988FM as both parties have similar audiences and local Chinese content works for both brands. Lam added that dimsum will leverage on the reach of 988FM to promote the content, and 988FM will also be able reach a younger digital audience via dimsum.
According to Lam, the partnership opens up the reach for both brands and enhances the efforts in addressing collective audiences. "We are very excited to bring these new content to dimsum subscribers, giving them complete access to the latest updates and news," Lam added.
Last month, dimsum signed a memorandum of understanding with Artop Media Company to expand its Thai content offerings. Some of the content on dimsum include drama titles such as You Are My Destiny, Flower Ring, and Fabulous 30.
It also expanded into Singapore in April this year through a partnership with StarHub to launch a one-stop video streaming service StarHub Go. The lite version of dimsum, which offers content from China, Thailand, Japan and South Korea, will also be available on StarHub Go.
