Flock Creative Network invests in digital agency Olrange, separate holding group formed

Indonesian digital advertising agency Olrange has joined Flock Creative Network (FCN) and received an investment from the network to establish a digital group named ALVA holding group, consisting of Olround, Froyo Story, and Maleo. ALVA will focus on building a network with a pool of different entities with diverse digital specifications. FCN declined to comment on the monetary value of the investment.

The combination of the four digital-led agencies will allow ALVA and FCN to maximise the potential of the ever-growing digital ecosystem. Some of the brands that these agencies have worked with include Nescafe, Kraft, Dettol, Standard Chartered, Pepsi, Samsung, AIA, and Tokopedia. Olrange also previously won Independent Agency of the Year at MARKETING-INTERACTIVE's Agency of the Year Awards Indonesia in 2019.

At the same time, ALVA will also include talents that serve complete digital services that integrate data with precise creative solutions while maintaining faster processes, effective results, and more efficient costing. With digital advertising in Indonesia booming, both FCN and ALVA believe this is "an optimal period" for ALVA to accelerate growth and create products and services to fulfill the current and future demand.

ALVA and FCN also plan to push for digital transformation that will allow the vertical integration of supporting services; such as production house, talent management, and performance marketing agency. The partnership will open new opportunities for ALVA to spearhead innovations in the Indonesian digital marketing landscape.

As a data-driven digital provider, ALVA plans to strengthen its position by building up data capabilities utilising first-party data for the network's strategic planning and optimisation purposes, and by expanding and retaining the creative talent pool through collaboration and integration of cross-discipline with expertise; creating more learning and growth opportunities for employees as a whole network.

As for FCN, which has been aggressively expanding its network, it plans to build a comprehensive network beyond digital services between agencies and brand experts. The collaboration will allow FCN to tap into emerging talents in Indonesia as the fastest growing and leading market in SEA. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to FCN for additional information.

Ivan Hadywibowo, founder of FCN, said that it has been aggressively growing and obsessed with futural transformation within its own network. According to him, having the right partner that possesses the steady leadership and capability to transform the digital landscape with an appetite for growth will be the ultimate key.

"ALVA is a natural fit for FCN, as it allows us to find new ways to engage with our clients and other potential businesses. This partnership will push us to transform and reimagine the entire business through the lens of experience - and we couldn't be more excited," he added.

Reza Akbar, founder of ALVA, said that it plans to expand the source of streams by creating specific digital-led creative agencies that will serve both digitally advanced clients that demand data-driven dynamic creative, as well as new-to-digital brands that require expert guidance in making the most out of digital marketing. “This partnership also allows us to tap into an ecosystem of integrated specialists and talents that allows us to give full service that our diverse clients demand," added Akbar.

Founded in 2016, FCN is a network of creative companies based in Indonesia with over 600 employees. Some of the agencies under FCN include Cocoo, Finch, Flock, Gull and Hatching. Earlier in June this year, it partnered with GERMS Creative Capital (GCC), headquartered in Singapore, to launch an experience design and development studio called SURGE Interactive. This partnership will bring the best in digital expertise from both agencies to offer a new form of digital service in line with the growth of the Southeast Asia market. SURGE’s specialised offerings include customer experience strategy, experience design and development, as well as business analytics and optimisation.
