Digi Telecommunications has named CDO and head of Digi-X Praveen Rajan to the role of CMO, replacing Loh Keh Jiat who A+M understands has left the company. Loh (pictured right) was named CMO in March 2016 and prior to that was the chief sales officer.

He has also held other various senior positions within Digi's marketing division during his 10 years with the telco. They include head of postpaid, head of corporate strategy and broadband, head of product marketing, and head of channels and regional management. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telco and accounting industries. He also worked at Mobile-8 in Indonesia and PwC before joining Digi.

Meanwhile, Rajan (pictured left) has helmed the role of CDO since June 2016, leading an independent division called Digi-X, according to his LinkedIn. His LinkedIn added that Rajan is responsible for launching projects and businesses independent of Digi. Rajan joined the telco in 2007 and brings more than 15 years of experience in the Internet and mobile industries.

He has held multiple leadership positions in his ten years with Digi and they include head of advanced data services, head of products - Internet and services, and head of postpaid and digital services. Prior to joining Digi, Rajan co-founded a social networking startup called LifeLogger in 2003, where he served as the CTO. A+M has reached out to Loh for comment.

At the same time, the company has also named head of consumer sales Cheng Weng Hong chief sales officer. In a statement to A+M, Digi said both appointments are part of a long-term leadership succession plan that has been put in place over several years.

"Both are seasoned commercial leaders with solid track records throughout their long tenures in Digi, and have been central to contributing to the company’s commercial and retail success. We strongly believe these changes provide us a solid foundation to fuel the next phase of Digi’s growth," the company added.
