Hong Kong's annual design festival deTour has appointed Sutton Hong Kong as its communications agency.

Sutton will handle all local and international media responsibilities, provide digital strategies and manage deTour’s social media platforms before and during its 2020 edition running from 27 November to 6 December 2020.

The agency said the appointment was due to its experiences in the local and international fields of design, arts and culture. Previously, Sutton Hong Kong has worked with leading designers, craft fairs and festivals including launching the Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT) in Hong Kong, Design Society in Shenzhen, fairs and biennales, such as IDFFHK, UABB (Shenzhen), representing design institutions such as the V&A in Asia, and supporting international design projects such as Instagram @Design and London Craft Week.

“Sutton are honoured to be working with deTour on their 2020 festival, which celebrates and supports Hong Kong’s vibrant design scene. Their innovative, interactive and diverse programming will no doubt attract both the local community as well as a wider international audience," said president and managing director of Sutton Catherine McClelland.

As one of Hong Kong's largest design festivals, deTour celebrates works and ideas from local and international designers, through exhibitions, workshops, dialogues, and networking events. As a platform devoted to supporting the local design scene, deTour creates opportunities for local and international designers by transforming creativity into design solutions.
