Deliveroo Hong Kong has strengthened its supply of face masks for all of its riders by distributing 120,000 more masks until the end of 2020.

The food delivery platform has worked with Hong Kong-based mask manufacturer Procare HK to provide riders with an additional 2,500 boxes of masks, which is equivalent to 120,000 masks in total until December.

"It is our responsibility to help ensure that our riders receive resources that will keep them safe and healthy. We are pleased to have collaborated with Procare HK, a local supplier here in Hong Kong of high-quality and reliable surgical masks," said Brian Lo, general manager of Deliveroo Hong Kong.

Deliveroo Hong Kong has been offering face masks to riders since the onset of the pandemic. The company distributed some 2,800 boxes of face masks, amounting to over 140,000 masks until August 2020. Other measures that it has taken to protect riders include offering free COVID-19 at-home testing kits, a new healthcare membership package for riders through virtual insurer Bowtie, and a fund to support riders who are diagnosed with COVID-19 or who have been required by the medical authorities to isolate themselves.

"Giving back and supporting local businesses is particularly important right now, as we all face the economic hardships together and look for new ways to help boost Hong Kong’s economy," added Lo.
