DDB Group Hong Kong has bolstered its creative leadership with the hire of Alejandro Canciobello (pictured), in the role of regional executive creative director.

In his new position, Canciobello will be responsible for creative development for clients with multi-market needs, reporting directly to CEO, Andreas Krasser. DDB HK told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that there are no specific markets under Canciobello's role as it depends on client needs.

Canciobello, originally from Peru, has thus far had a career across both South America and Asia. According to his LinkedIn, he was at Moon Rabbit Singapore as SVP creative director prior to DDB Group HK. Before Moon Rabbit, He had also been the regional creative director at Leo Burnett and creative director at McCann Worldgroup.

Passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience to help others, Canciobello also has an ongoing mentorship role as part of the D&AD council.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Canciobello said: “I immediately fell in love with Krasser’s approach to the work, his way of operating, and just generally how he treats people. We share an exciting vision that I can’t wait to help make a reality for this agency that I’m already so much enjoying being a part of.”

Meanwhile, Krasser said, “Canciobello is one of those special creatives that can make magic happen for brands. I think his dedication to mentorship and his relationships with many people in the industry also speak volumes about his character. We want ‘talented and nice’ people here at DDB and Alejandro embodies so much of both qualities. Everyone here is excited to be working with him.”

Most recently, McDonald’s Hong Kong partnered with agency DDB Group Hong Kong and OMD Hong Kong to launch a short film to raise awareness of the support that Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong (RMHC) provides families of terminally and chronically ill children.

While most Hong Kong people have heard of RMHC, yet a lot less are aware of its purpose and the impact the charity has brought on families of sick children. The Ronald McDonald House by RMHC, situated near a hospital, provides a “home away from home” for families of sick children, enabling them to stay close at a time they need it most.
