For the fourth year running, DBS Bank has been named "Event Marketer of the Year" at the Marketing Events Awards 2019. Working its way to the top once again, DBS Bank earned two gold awards, three silver, and one bronze trophy.
The bank has again been recognised for the hugely successful DBS Marina Regatta event which garnered five out of its six wins, including both of its gold trophies. The Regatta campaign, which was done in collaboration with Modellscape, gained huge praise from the judges who described it as a “stand out case”, a “well-rounded, engaging and very meaningful event; not only to brand DBS but also to educate and promote sustainability. There seems to be something for everyone at the event, with so many activities and a real buzz.” DBS claimed an additional silver award for its work with MICE Depot and Ruder Finn Asia on "DBS Asia X Lab Crawl 2018" in the Best Experiential Marketing category.
Coming in second place was Gardens by the Bay which impressed the judges with the "Children’s Festival at Gardens by the Bay" campaign for their “incredible set design and experience for the kids”. This project earned three gold awards in the Best Experiential Marketing, Best Use of a Venue and Best Venue Experience categories.
Other notable winners include Urban Redevelopment Authority that came in third place, followed by Google, Riot Games, SAP Southeast Asia, and Unilever.
As well as recognising the success of marketing brands, the Marketing Events Awards also celebrates the outstanding work of the agencies that clients have partnered with. This year saw Pico Art International claim the coveted "Event Agency of the Year" title having earned an incredible three gold, four silver and two bronze awards for their work with Gardens by the Bay, as well as Urban Redevelopment Authority’s "i Light Singapore-Bicentennial Edition". Other prominent agency winners include Modellscape, Jack Morton Worldwide, Lumina Live and Mercury Live.
In its eighth year, the awards were held at the luxurious Fullerton Hotel, Singapore on 13 September 2019. The sold-out event saw over 400 regional event marketing professionals and judges from senior, client-side brands present.
This year’s awards received a record number of submissions and Marketing magazine would like to extend a huge thank you to our judges for giving up their valuable time to thoroughly review and score every single entry.
