After more than seven years as the chief marketing and commercial officer, Joe Tripodi will be officially retiring from The Coca-Cola Company at the end of February 2015. Replacing him will be Marcos De Quinto, who is currently the president of the Iberia business unit and vice president of Europe group.
De Quinto (pictured) will serve as chief marketing officer from 1 January 2015. Over the next few months, Tripodi and De Quinto will work in partnership to ensure a smooth transition.
Muhtar Kent, chairman and chief executive officer, The Coca-Cola Company, said: "During his tenure, Tripodi has successfully led the company’s worldwide marketing and commercial organisation, and played a vital role in building and leveraging marketing capabilities and talent around the globe."
Kent said that De Quinto, over his tenure with Coca-Cola, has been known for both his ardent passion and his strategic capabilities. He added that having "held a number of leadership roles throughout his career", De Quinto will bring a global view with "strong operational experience" to his newly appointed role.
"Through De Quinto's leadership, the Iberia Business Unit has become one of our best marketing centers of excellence worldwide. Our global marketing organisation will benefit greatly from De Quinto’s proven track record of success and his unique combination of world-class operational and marketing expertise," Kent said.
