In October, Coca-Cola philanthropic arm The Coca-Cola Foundation launched a plastic recycling programme in Hong Kong in collaboration with The World Green Organisation. The programme has been running across the city and is now inviting the public to recycle plastic bottles at Langham Place, Mong Kok.

Running until 27 March, the latest edition of the programme is inviting the public to recycle PET 1 (one of the most commonly used plastics in consumer products, and is found in most water and soda bottles) and HDPE 2 plastic bottles (High-density polyethylene, the stiff plastic used to make milk jugs, detergent bottles and toys) on every Friday and Saturday.

To encourage the public to join, participants will receive a ticket during each session, offering them a gift based on the number of plastic bottles they bring to the venue.

This edition is part of the Recycle Together – Clean PET Bottle Reward Programme and has been hosting about 100 recycling events across eight districts, namely Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, New Territories North, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun and Yau Tsim Mong.
