CNN and ViuTV ink news content deal

ViuTVsix, a free-to-air English language channel of PCCW’s ViuTV, has announced a news content deal with CNN International in Hong Kong.

As part of the multi-year agreement, the newly launched English channel will broadcast up to two blocks of CNN news programming per day, totalling 60 minutes. Content is taken from CNN International flagship programmes including CNN Newsroom, CNN Today and News Stream.

This agreement allows us to deliver on our strategy of reaching new audiences and supporting local news operations.”

Having CNN as part of our daily programming line-up is a real asset and already proving popular with our discerning English-speaking Hong Kong audience.”

ViuTVsix launched in March this year to offer 17 hours of English programming a day, including three to four hours of news and public affairs, lifestyle, overseas dramas and documentaries.
